RESEARCH

Reaching into the beyond...

As a passionate researcher, I look to utilizing the tools of academia and logic to find solutions to both practical and theoretical problems. I enjoy applying frameworks to difficult problems and using Mathematics and Computer Science to solve them in creative and innovative ways. Through high school, I've worked on 3 research projects, the results of which are summarised below.

My projects

1

Cluster-Classify

IIT Bombay Monash Research Academy

I am a research intern under Ph.D. scholar Parvathy Nair working on early warning systems for Parkinson's Disease. Under her supervision, I wrote a research paper titled 'A Cluster-Classify Approach to solving Multi-Dimensional Classification Problems'. My research combines 8 Machine Learning models under various combinations to classify datasets accurately. I distinguished between stroke patients and controls with higher accuracy than published studies. This paper has won a CREST Gold award and reached the 2nd round of the St. Yau High School Science Award (Asia). It is also published in the Questioz Journal for high school research.

2

The Angel and Devil Problem

Euler's Circle: San Francisco

Euler's Circle is a selective mathematics summer camp covering undergraduate math courses. I was a part of the fall Advanced Class that covered Combinatorial Game Theory. Over 5 weeks, I learned various concepts like Surreal Numbers, Impartial Games, Nimbers, Cryptography, Thermography, and Misère Games.  I co-authored a paper on The Angel and Devil Problem proposed by John Conway and covered its various solutions and problem-solving strategies. The paper is published on the Euler Circle website.

Better2Bus

Vasant Valley School, New Delhi

As Headboy of school, I led the Better2Bus sustainability initiative that aimed to reduce CO2 emissions due to private transport. We found that school generates 1 ton CO2 per day due to private cars, and launched a social media campaign that resulted in 10%+ enrollment in school buses.
